What I Do
This website is called "Write Edit Teach" (smooshed together, "writediteach"), so you probably know what you're getting into here at a minimum. But as my personal philosophy and portfolio demonstrate, there's more to it than writing, editing, and teaching. I also conduct research of many types, typically academic but also industry-based. I tutor English and Spanish occasionally. But most importantly, I help people realize their word-driven vision through the use of vocabularies, tools, and knowledge. I also help them put some of those tools—like MediaWiki—to use, and learn a thing or two about writing along the way (like the concept of parallelism).
I've been doing these things for over 20 years now, in a wide variety of different environments and formats. I focus primarily on non-fiction contexts, though I occasionally help edit works of fiction. I tend to gravitate to technical and academic topics, while keeping audience in mind. These days copywriting isn't something I seek out, preferring to stick to guides, white papers, and informative articles on scientific and industrial topics. Through my professional work and daily life, my knowledge and experience has increased substantially, allowing me to do all of these things more competently, efficiently, and succinctly. They have also allowed me to branch out as a subject matter expert (or, at a minimum, a subject matter "intermediate") on more than a few topics. And finally, I've been able to learn the inner workings of platforms like MediaWiki to the point of being able to provide support for those platforms.
After examining my portfolio and knowledge-driven experience, feel free to contact me with questions.
